As the title suggests, Skyline is a movie about home building. A real story based on true events, it stars Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt, and is entirely independent-funded. However, this film could have used a little more creative storytelling and originality. The film is also lacking in verbatim answers. Its filmmakers seem to prefer to hold back some cards, so they don’t follow anyone who has a great idea.
Skyline is a genre film
While Skyline is classified as a sci-fi action thriller, it functions more like a horror film. The plot revolves around a group of ordinary people struggling to survive an alien invasion. The aliens take each character out one by one. The film’s action and special effects are impressive, but its pacing and characters are a little slow. However, Skyline has some strong points. Regardless of the genre, it is an entertaining watch.
It’s based on a true story
The film’s premise is very simple: aliens, advanced enough to build glowing lasers, have invaded Earth and stripped its population. To survive, these aliens need human brains to fuel their machines. This film’s story has all the ingredients for a great science fiction flick. However, it has many flaws and fails to deliver on its promise. While it does feature high-quality visuals and talented special effects wizards, Skyline is largely uninteresting. It feels destined to be a SyFy Channel debut. The film’s budget is low-budget and often obscures its shoddy quality with glistening blue surfaces.
It’s an independent funded film
The alien invasion movie that was released by Universal studios isn’t as good as the ones that come out of Hollywood, but Skyline is a worthy exception. While Skyline isn’t as well made as District 9 or Independence Day, its director and special effects team are extremely talented. They have the experience and talent of working in Hollywood, and they don’t skimp on the special effects either. In addition to the directors’ experience, the filmmakers also have a lot of experience with special effects.
It’s a homebuilder
Skyline is a leading North American home dealer specializing in manufactured homes built to HUD standards. Based in Elhart, Indiana, this company has been in business for over 70 years and is now publicly traded as Skyline Champion Corporation. Their catalogue features thousands of floor plans ranging in size from 399 square feet to nearly 3,000 square feet. While designs may vary from city to city, you can rest assured that Skyline has the experience and expertise needed to build a quality home.
It’s a restaurant
Cincinnati-based Skyline is a family-friendly diner that has served burgers for over five decades. The restaurant also offers take-out and delivery services. Its name comes from a streetscape view of the downtown city skyline. The first Skyline Chili opened in Cincinnati in 1949. In the late 1990s, the restaurant considered a comeback in Western Pennsylvania. Today, it is operating two locations in the Greater Cleveland area, but is not present in the region north of Mansfield.
It has a GIS software
If you’re looking for a GIS software program that will help you get your maps looking their best, Skyline may be the product for you. The company has expanded its sales efforts into Germany, where they will represent the company’s products to clients throughout Central, Eastern and Southern Europe. The company has also named Tomas Orlik as General Manager of SkylineGlobe GmbH, with 20 years of experience in the GIS industry. Orlik has previously worked for companies like GCWare, Intergraph Corporation and various startups over the last couple of years.
It’s in Cincinnati
The Cincinnati area is known for its delicious, chili-topped spaghetti. The locals argue about the correct blend of spices to make Skyline Chili, but there is no one secret recipe. Some people swear by cinnamon, others by chocolate. This chili has a long history and is even now a craft cocktail. Here is a list of Cincinnati’s famous restaurants. Among them are:
It’s open Monday-Saturday
The Skyline Drive-In is now open in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. While the theater had previously said movies would only be shown on weekends, the cinema is now open to the public Monday through Saturday. Films currently showing include Raiders of the Lost Ark on Sunday, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on Monday, Major League on Tuesday, and Footloose on Wednesday. Other films are Dreamgirls, Anchorman, and Gladiator on Thursday and Friday.
It’s a log flume
It’s a log flume at the Skyline amusement park in Seattle, Washington, and one of the longest in the country. This family-friendly water ride is designed for riders to experience the thrill of speeding down a water-filled trough. The first lifthill is a thrilling plunge, and the second is an exhilarating drop. Several types of rubber belting control splash levels, and some are designed to have waterfalls on them.
